Membership

We are looking for members to help us build a safe, sustainable, and socially conscious community, with plenty of space and support for individual growth. Each member has legal ownership of the property, and the ability to build equity. No large down payment is required.

Located in Waldoboro, Maine, the farm is just over 60 acres of sunny fields, vibrant wetlands, creeks, and lots of forest. Waldoboro is halfway between Brunswick and Belfast, and the farm is less than fifteen minutes to the beach, route one, and amenities like a Hannaford, art galleries, and a handful of eateries.

Current infrastructure includes a small orchard; walking trails; and the farmhouse, which sits on the front edge of the property.

There are goats and chickens on the property as well as a dog. Given the amount of space, additional personal animals can be accommodated. The goat herd is a separate business run by a cooperative member which leases extra land from the farm.

We are particularly seeking individuals who have extensive experience with building skills such as construction, plumbing, and electrical work so that we can help each other build homes that last.

Cost per person depends on how many folks are on the property, and whether you take a room in the farmhouse. Our current budget puts payments anywhere from $680/month for a tiny or mobile home plot to $980/month for a room in the farmhouse. All carry charges include access to common spaces in the farmhouse such as the kitchen, laundry, and bathrooms, and land access, as well as all utilities. While we ideally want long-term members, we have some limited space for people who would prefer to rent.

One large room in the farmhouse and tiny home plots are available now. If this sounds like something you are interested in building with us, please reach out:
